Drivers Education Program (DEP)

The Drivers Education Program is a thirty-six (36) hour class.  The purpose of the class is to help new drivers become "Safe, Responsible and Courteous Drivers".  Our goal is to assist every participant with gaining classroom and behind-the-wheel road training that will help to prevent accidents, comply with the motor vehicle rules and regulations and licensing requirements, and respect for other drivers and users of the roads.  The Drivers Education Program includes 6 hours of Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) Sessions.  The BTW Sessions are scheduled according to the student's availability. The Drivers Education Program is a 2 week class. You may either pay online or in person for the DEP classes.  Online payments must be in full.  In person payments may be paid in full or with a 50% deposit.

Driver Improvement Program (DIP)
(includes Defensive Driving)

The Driver Improvement Program is a 4 to 8 hour course. The class is held every Saturday (except Holiday weekends and Special Occasions).  The class starts at 2 pm.  The class is intended to provide driver rehabilitation.  The class focuses on teaching the students to improve their driving skills by reducing their driving risks by anticipating situations and making safe well-informed decisions. Such decisions are implemented based on road and environmental conditions present when completing safe driving maneuvers.  Issues discussed are traffic crashes, psychological factors, human factors, safety equipment, traffic crash techniques, and state traffic laws.  Read what you need to know if you are assigned to take a Driver Improvement Program. You must register, schedule, and pay for DIP classes in person.  Please remember to bring your letter from MVA and/or the Court or entity requiring completion of the DIP.

Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) Sessions

The Behind-the-Wheel Sessions focus on the following: basic vehicle operation and control, lane control, following distance, observation techniques, and parking.  Six (6) hours of BTW Sessions are included with the Drivers Education Program.  If a student only wants BTW Sessions or would like additional sessions, the sessions are scheduled according to the student's availability and priced according to the number of sessions needed. Please call the office for price information and to schedule the sessions.  You must pay for the BTW sessions in person.
